In our trainings:

We don't say we trust. WE SHOW IT!

We don't hide. WE STAND UP AND SHARE!

We don't talk. WE BREAK BOARDS, BEND BARS, WALK OVER GLASS AND FIRE!

OUR METHOD

We are facilitators. Our job as facilitators is to present the training, teach how to do it and support the participant in the execution of the exercise.

None of the trainings is mandatory for the expected result. The comfort zone of each participant is unique and depend on how they were raised , their beliefs and paradigms, constructed through their childhood and life experience.

The objective is that the participant get out of their comfort zone and this is the learning process for growth. Finishing or not the exercise is not essential.

The facilitator expirement the trainings several times. Our lemma is that no one can take anybody to a place that he or she has not been before. These trainings take the participants to places mentally and emotionally unknown, out of their comfort zone, which may lead to stress situations. The facilitator and his staff needs to be ready to support the participant and do not let the experience become prejudicial.

The psychologist Arnold Mindel develop a strainght forward scheme to represent how the process work in these situations. There is an edge between the old/known state (comfort zone) and the new/unknow state (Out of the comfort zone). The facilitator’s job is to help participants cross the edge using the high impact trainings and stay there for effective learning process.

“In September 2018 Mario facilitated “We can do it” for the 45 new executive Lisbon MBA students. Our goals for the session were to bring the students together as a group and help them get to know each other, have students identify personal and professional obstacles they would like to overcome, and increase their feelings of self- and team-efficacy...

Everyone in the group participated in all three exercises. First, the board breaking, an exercise about obstacles and how we face them. Then the bar bending – the most daunting! - an exercise about trust and commitment to others. And finally the arrow snapping, an exercise about our goals and how we get there...

“We can do it” was one of the first session in the Leadership Stream component of the Lisbon MBA Executive, which is intended to help students think strategically about their power and influence, understand their personal and professional goals, and take specific steps to strengthen their ability to get more done in their jobs, in their lives, and in the world. We wanted to start of the student experience with powerful, memorable sessions. “We can do it” was a great choice. Thank you, Mario!
